Yard Sale Day

Today we were up at 6:30. I never get up at 6:30am, it was still dark out and I shouldn't be up when it's dark out LOL! Yard sale started at 8am and going around this house collecting everything to take with me, Jake, Jake stuff, Jake food, camera, Blackberry, and charger cause my battery dies every two hours.....ugh! Put everything in the car and the lawn chairs. Off we go!

We get to my cousin's house where the yard sale is being held and I, personally, couldn't ask for better weather. So crack open the trailer and drag everything out and set it up on tables and set stuff on the ground all priced tagged. Yep, we are organized, we went to the bank yesterday to break big bills to a majority of dollars and fives and two rolls of quarters. We are ready! Or we thought.......

We get all set up and sit down and the waiting game starts.......where were the cars, the people, the spenders??? So someone had mentioned (no me, I'm not that smart LOL!) that we should park one of our cars on the side of the main road in front of the property so people driving by will see "someone" stopped at this yard sale. Think I'm crazy, huh?! Well, it worked! It's a mental thing with you people, after we parked our car on the side of the road, we've had cars stopping, two or three cars at a time. Got that people reading this, if you are going to have a yard sale, make sure your car is parked in a location where someone think "they" stopped to check out the yard sale and since "they" are there, there must be some pretty good deals there so they stop, and then the next person stops, like a domino effect. I'm not saying I'm the one that thought of this genius idea, I'm just tell you it works! :) Okay, moving on......want pictures?? Ok.........

So from my personal opinion, we had a successful yard sale and in 10 years from now after accumulating more junk......I'll be more than happy to have another yard sale. That really was fun. Jake was there the whole time, all day supervising like a champ, he was the official greeter to everyone that walked in the yard. :)

My personal profit was from a bicycle, a bicycle trainer, a stereo and speakers (I'm sure I had this stereo when I was 7 years old, it's got a record player on top and an 8 deck thingy on the front.) Boy, that was an old stereo.......so total made for me was $37 dollars. I get to take home my treadmill and my ski racks that I didn't sell there and put it on Craigslist tomorrow. I'm a happy girl today! :) Hope you have a nice weekend. I'll give you a hint of what we are doing tomorrow: A local fair is in town.......I'm bringing my camera! :)
