Last Night and Today

I'll put what we did last night in this blog along with what we did so far today! :)

Last night we went to a little ice cream shop a little drive away from where we live........I love soft vanilla ice cream and splurge a tad on the rainbow jimmies......it was a little pricey at $3.54, but I know it's the "season".......of course I got a picture.....

Another wonderful Blackberry picture.....it was melting fast!
After getting ice cream, we drove over to the boat launch ramp and watched the boats drive by on the river. There's tiny park there, so we walked Jake around....

He's looking happy tonight......naturally! :)

Oh, I think he found something......

What's in there????

In the evening, there's quite some action with people taking their boats out of the water.......alot of drivers have a hard time backing an empty trailer down the ramp to collect their boat.....

Many people have their boats in the water

Some people bringing their boats in towards the ramp

People getting ready to bring their boats out of the water

Like this picture below who I was there when the driver cranked the steering wheel so far to the right and jack knifed the truck and trailer, picking up the trailer's right side off the ground with the help of the rear bumper.......see I got a picture of the dent on the bumper........

See the dent in the bumper.....that's from jack knifing the trailer into it

Okay, the driver finally made it with no additional damages....

Okay, this morning we woke up a little cause we knew it was going to be super hot out later this morning and this afternoon.......so we went blueberry picking in Goffstown again......I ate the rest of the blueberries we previously picked, so it was time to go back.......

This is the place in Goffstown that we go blueberry picking

We park and go here to get our buckets to go picking

So many blueberries.....so little time..... :)

Where do we start picking??

I think I'll take some of these......

And some of these.....

Plenty to pick.....didn't take us long....

We come back to the little shed and cash out.....

Last time we got 3 pounds, this time we got almost 5 1/2 pounds!
Then after we got home from blueberry picking, Jake needed a bath (no his choice, mine LOL) so in the tub he went.......not a happy camper at all......he doesn't like baths.......he cringes even at the word "Bath"

"Are you going to help me get out of here?"

"I wonder how much longer this will take?"

"Okay, I did my time.......let me out!!!   I'm soaked!!"

"I smell pretty good, but I hate being clean....."

"Yeah, we really done?"

So that is our day today so far.......tonight there is an Ice Cream social for the neighborhood at a local restaurant (walking distance), so we will be going there tonight around 7pm. Until then I'll be on the sofa watching TV and relaxing......bug ya later! :)

Floating Post Office

Today was a beautiful weather day. We couldn't waste it away so we went on the Mount Washington's U/S Mail Boat, Sophie C, on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire. This is an floating post office as they can process mail and sell stamps right on board the boat. I took a ton of pictures so bare with me as they load onto the web page. It was a tour cruise that went to five islands where the Sophie Mail Boat unloaded mail onto each island (didn't take long, maybe 3 or 4 minutes per island). The tour started at 2pm and was done in exactly 2 hours. The cost was $24 dollars per person and the dog could ride the boat for free........I'll upload pictures now...... :)

Here's the schedule

Well, that was really fun and well worth it. It wasn't one of those recorded tour guides, the captain actually talked us thru the whole trip and pointed out islands and told us alot of history about the boat and the area.

Well, I'm in the transition of switching from socks and sneakers/work boots to bare foot and sandals which feels really great. It's just one more thing that puts everything about my employment termination in perspective even more. It's the little things. You would have to be in my position to understand but I thought it was important to me worth mentioning......See, no more work boots!! :)

Other than that.....this is how I finished my day......
