Welcome to NHMS Gift of Lights

Hello! :) It's been pretty mellow over here for the past few days. Just going thru the day and chores as usual. But today was exciting.....well tonight, because tonight we went to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway and looked at their display of lights around the outside of the race track (no, you don't ride on the race track itself, I had my hopes up about that too), this is around the back side of the bleachers. Anyways, it's $15 a car load of people and if you bring 3 can food items (which we did), you get $2 dollars off the $15 admission. So with the assistance of the millions of orange traffic cones they have at a typical Nascar race track, we meandered thru the display of lights......wanna go with me? Okay, let's goooooo.....

So it was nice. It took about 30 minute to get thru the light display depending on how fast/slow you drive. This race track is about a 40 minute drive from where we live, so it wasn't that far at all. I would definitely come back next year and do it again. Other than that, not much else going on......I hope you have a nice weekend too. I'll be back to bug you with some other interesting stuff when it comes along! :)

Touch A Truck

Today I went a local school charity event called "Touch A Truck". Jake wasn't feel all that up to it with all the allergy medication he is on, so I left him laying on the sofa relaxing, then this evening I brought him to the park for a walkie and he was happy. We are (most likely according to the news channels on TV) staying inside tomorrow due to the threat of a hurricane, so Jake and I will be watching TV and I'm still working on making Jake do the "Paw" trick to give me his paw for a treat, we are working on alot of new tricks (still working on "roll over" too, maybe tomorrow I'll get on the floor and show him how it's done LOL!)....Okay, so that was my day today......I know what you are waiting for.....pictures! :)

So that was my day today. The weather today (during the day) was nice - it hit 80 degrees and I had a t-shirt on most of the day.....you can see by the pictures it was a nice day. It started raining around this evening and now it's just a matter of waiting for Hurricane Irene to pass by and move on.....Have a great night. Hmmmmm, not sure what I'm going to blog about tomorrow since I won't venture out, I'll most likely dig something up! :)

MDA Lock Up

I was "arrested" today and participated in the MDA "Lock Up". It was alot of fun and I don't usually do benefits like these (I normally stay with pet benefits since I have a dog), but I wanted to expand my circle and be involved in a great cause.

Local business and community leaders agree to be "arrested" for having a "big heart" in the fun, MDA Lock-Up. This unique community-wide event raises funds for people with neuromuscular diseases.

So anyways, lol, what happened is that I arrived to the restaurant that was hosting the event Jillian's which is super close to where I live. Anyways, I go there to turn myself in since there is a warrant for my "arrest"......heehee......let me show you!

Isn't that great!! I never had a warrant out for my arrest before! And then you have to post bail by making a donation which I did (my Mom was with me and she helped post my bail) which wasn't a set amount of money, just a small donation helps. I took some pictures of the room where they have table set up to socialize and Jillian's provided food.......

I arrived at the later part of the day. This event went from 11am to 3pm and I showed up around 2:30. After you post your bail (make a donation), you are paroled by a judge......I HAD TO FACE A JUDGE......I was so scared she wouldn't parole me.......I sauntered over to her and pleaded my case......

Please go easy on me.....I'm a good citizen....

And she slammed the gavel down and stamped my donation sheet "Paroled" and she said if I do this again I would be a repeat offender and I told her you might as well label me as a repeat offender cause you will see me in "court" again, so she gave me this.......

Which is now on my back window of my car! :) I didn't know what to expect in this benefit but they are having another "Lock Up" in September in Londonderry, so I WILL be more prepared to collect donations and be more involved in this benefit than I was today. I just didn't know what to expect. It was so much fun. I think I'll drag everyone I know into this the next time it comes around. So BEWARE! Fun Day - Stayed Local

Hello! Well today was a good day once it got started. It seemed like I had woke up at 6:30pm to do my bathroom duties, and then went back to bed. Then at 9am I woke up, toasted some raisin english muffins, ate them, and went back to bed. Then at noon, I woke up again. Weird. I was feeling okay, just couldn't stay away from that bed for some reason. Jake slept in late with me too, cause when I woke up at noon, he was laying next to me. Mom got home from work at 1:30 so it all worked out and I got plenty of time to get ready to start my day (or what was left of it).My Mom and I went to Planet Fitness down the street from me and signed up for a membership for each of us. It was $9 dollars down and $10 a month which I can't complain. I have a Gold's Gym membership which I do like. Gold's Gym is way different than Planet Fitness. They each offer totally different amenities. Gold's Gym has group classes which Planet Fitness and Planet Fitness has smaller classes for training sessions. I got some pictures........

So that was fun and I really enjoyed that gym. There's a Subway next door (how convenience that we had lunch at before we did our work out.

Oh, Did you want to see my new tires that I bought yesterday!! Those cost me a pretty penny, but the car runs better than ever and it's all about safety first! :) And it passed inspection with flying colors.





Today we also went for a bicycle ride with Jake and my Dad! We went around the neighborhood and it was super easy......do you know why......cause our bicycles are errrrrrrrr.....I guess you can called them "Hybrids" Haha!! Yep, they have an electric motor on the back side of the bicycle that will help you move along I'll show you.......(Yeah, I got my new camera out now!) :)

First I want to explain a little technology behind these bicycles. These bicycles are equipped with a TAG and PAS system in which users can select between two modes.

The TAG (Twist And Go) requires no pedalling at all. A simple twist of the throttle and the bicycle goes. Twist further for higher speed, less for lower speed. It's the most basic technology, easy to use and understand.

The PAS (Pedal Assist System) mode operates when throttle must be activated and rider must be pedaling in order to operate the motor. Basically when you are pedaling the bicycle is when the motor will kick in to tell you out ;)

These bicycles are called the IZIP Hybrid Electric Bicycles - this website will help you learn more about these NEAT bicycles......

There's the two blue battery packs (there is a key to lock the batteries in place).....you can control which battery
you want to work off of from......the batteries will go 15 - 22 miles and top speed in TAG is 15 miles per hour

This evening we went down to the river near where we live (we drove the car, not on the bikes) and the "Make A Wish Foundation" was have a charity event raising $36,000 and HOW are they trying to accomplish this you ask?? Put two guys on a raft on the Merrimack river for 36 hours straight. This event started on Tuesday July 26 at 8am and finished on Wednesday July 27 at 6pm or later when they reach their goal of $36,000. I got some cool pictures of this that I think you will enjoy......I had a great time there.....
