Deerfield Fair 2011

Hello! Gosh, I was up early today. We wanted to get grocery shopping out of the way so we did a complete grocery checkout at the new Market Basket. Okay, where do I start with this store. These are my thoughts on the new store......1) Why, oh, why is the ice cream along one wall of the store and the dairy products (milk, cheese) on the opposite side of the store.......causes alot of walking for nothing since we buy our milk and ice cream last. I don't know, maybe because the grocery store I'm use to going to has two freezer aisles near the milk and cheese section. And 2) there seems to be more desserts (pastry, chocolate, cakes) in this store than real food, some food that we buy at the grocery store we regularly visit isn't available at this new store. I don't think we will be going back. Oh, well, that's my gripe for today LOL!

Okay, we went to the Deerfield Fair (New England's Oldest Family Fair). It's just a four day event that is a 20 minute drive for us to get to. This is one of my favorite fairs.....unfortunately every year it comes around, the rain gets the best of them, but today was a very nice day out and we got there at 9am (I told ya we did grocery shopping early today LOL!).........

We are driving into the parking lot to the fair.....

We waited about a 1/2 hour...the new check in system was
electronic and when you paid your admission, the cashier had to
input your zip code into the machine before taking payment

There's my ticket! Let's go......

A horse show was going on when we got inside....

Just walking around the fair....

One of the display buildings inside the fair had
a history of the Deerfield Fair.....

Some cattle for the "cattle pull"

Hey, that's ME! :)

More walking around......

Some kids washing baby cattles.....

Lots of tractors if you need to buy one.....

Still walking around....

4H was there displaying their creative side....

I thought the candy corn in the light bulb was cute.....

Quilts are made and displayed....

This is my favorite quilt with all the old cars on it....

Looking to buy an ATV??

How about a snowmobile??

Still walking around....

They have plenty of rides here, but no games to play.....
don't look to win a teddy bear here

Alot of history here....

So that was my day today.......Jake has a doggie event to go to tomorrow (not sure exactly what it's about, heard about it from Zoey's Mom and Dad) but we will go and check it out with pictures......Have a great night! :)

Rainy Day.....

In case you were keeping track, this is my 62nd blog posting to this blog LOL!

Today was a rainy, dreary day. I was a (and still am) major lazy bum today with Jake. We stayed in our pajamas all day today. Jake was bugging to me go out, so out we went (yes in our pajamas :) )

All we did was drive to the local Dunkins Donuts and did a quick drive thru for an iced tea for me and water for him. It's wasn't too exciting of a day, but hey, I got some pictures......

We going for a ride!!! Yay!

I got my iced tea and water....

We are sitting in the parking lot at Dunkin Donuts,
this is our view.....rainy...

"I wish she would stop taking my picture" heehee....

The Monopoly game is back at McDonald's.......

Okay, one more picture of Jake and we are going back home :)
Well, that was my simple day today. I didn't do much other than that....tomorrow we are going to the fair and I will bring my camera with me......check on me tomorrow. Have a good night :)

Today's Walk....

I know, kind of a boring title.......not too good at these titles....gonna have to hire a "blog title creator" LOL! Today was a nice day, I needed a light jacket, but it all didn't stop me from going out and meeting my walking group. Today's walk was held at a short path I didn't know about at all (seven minute drive from my house). There wasn't alot of walkers (besides us) on this path and we did come across a couple bicycle riders. Another 1 hour successful walk :)

This is how the walking path start out, nice and paved....

In an 1/8 of a mile, it turned to this....

But we kept going....

Yeah, alot of this along the way....

The path opens up a bit and then narrows......lots of trees, I thought
my allergies were going to get the best of me....

We just scouting the area along the way...

uh-oh, end of the line for us. I was told a nice wide path use to keep going....
but not anymore....we turned around and headed back...

See the Honda dealership....we weren't far from the city streets......all these
paths inthe city I never knew about....NOT that I will coming out
here all by myself (yikes)

That's alot of beer cans on the side of the path....

People just let their creative side run wild out here....

Walking on the path under the highway....

Geez.....

Along the path.....

I believe this was the most pleasant picture I took today....

We passed by this bridge and kept walking back to our cars....
So, it wasn't a long walk today, but we got to see alot. After this morning's walk, I went out to lunch with Mom at Ruby's Tuesdays (there was a "$10 off the bill" coupon in today's newspaper) :) And tonight I just had my blogging class, which is just something to do (and free). So today was a good day, but typical. I'm just watching TV now.....have a good night.....oh, and I do have my alarm set to make it to the PickleBall game tomorrow (BUT, of course, weather permitting).....
